In Pages, how can I prepare a document in two different languages?

I want to write in two languages, English and Italian but i seem to be able to work with one language (English) and when I want to do a section in Italian spell checker goes crazy. I know I could turn spell checker off but that's not really a satisfactory answer. Surely there is a way of using pages in dual languages?
