How do I stop screen bounce on my mini mac

When I open an app, the screen has suddenly started to bounce up and down in no regular pattern

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Just what is bouncing? Is it the app icon in the Dock? If so that could indicate a problem. Sometimes a window opens on the screen telling you the problem.

Does the bouncing go away?

Thanks for your response.

The desk top screen works fine.

When I open the calendar or any other programme the resulting screen bounces up and down.

The bounce is sometimes quick, sometimes large jumps, then small jumps.

As you may be about to click on an item, it all moves.

Very frustratin
