External Hard Disk write disabled

Hi,


After installing El Capitan, I cannot write on my external hard disk which is a Transcend StoreJet 1Tb. Below are screenshots.

You need to upgrade or replace the software you were using to enable Mac OS X to write to NTFS volumes; the one you have isn’t compatible with El Capitan.

It is formatted NTFS, a Windows format that allows you to read but not write to it. In order to write to it, you can use a third party application such as Paragon or Tuxera. Your other option is to reformat the HDD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Fat 32 or ExFAT. Note that reformatting will erase all user data so off load it to another HDD if you wish to retain it.
