restore a backup of time machine made on 10.9

Hi!

I'm facing the following problem: on my MCA 2011 13", after a complete reset of my OS, it is now installed 10.7.5 Lion.

I've got a time machine backup made on OS 10.9 Mavericks, and I need to restore it: does anyone know how to do it?

Should I upgrade 10.7 to 10.9 and then restore the backup? if yes, how to upgrade to 10.9.

Other solution: If I upgrade to 10.11 does the system will recognize the Time Machine backup done on 10.9?

Many thanks!!!!

Matteo
