When I pay with my watch I don't get a notification like I do with my phone, why is that?

When I pay with my Apple iPhone I get a notification of the payment on the phone and on my watch. If I go into the Apple Pay settings on the phone I see a list of transactions made with each of the cards.

If I pay with my Apple Watch I get no notification on the watch or phone and if I check the Watch app on the phone I don't have the option to see transactions made with each card.

How do I get notified of payments from the watch?

How do I see a list of transactions made using the watch?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave

What you have described is expected behaviour.

Devices are treated separately, which is why you had to register your payment card(s) separately on your Apple Watch and iPhone. Each combination of device and payment card is given a unique Device Account Number. For this reason, Wallet on your iPhone will only show Apple Pay transactions where you used your iPhone.

Apple Watch does not provide notifications or a record of recent transactions in the same way. When used in stores, you receive an audible alert and a gentle pulse to confirm that your payment information has been sent. Beyond that, confirmation of the transaction will be available via your bank or card statement.
