iOS 9x: Notes not syncing to correct folders on iPad

After the new (native) Notes App I enjoy that notes can now be managed in folders. This seems to sync perfectly between my Mac and iPhone.

However, on the iPad most notes are still placed in the root folder. And only a few notes are placed/correctly synced in other folders.

I tried turning Notes on/off on the iPad and re-sync. Still same problem.

After a reboot of the iPad still no resolution. It seems all notes are synced; and that the only problem is that notes are not placed (synced) correctly into other folders. This is of course a problem if folders are to work and sync correctly between devices.

FFolders aren't a new feature of notes, however...

Have you tried turning notes off and on again at settings > iCloud, you may want to restart the device in between.

Correction: Folders does indeed seem to be a new feature in the Notes App.

As mentioned, I tried the suggested solution a couple of times: No luck.

also it seems that there are 139 notes on the iPad instead of 133 as shown on Mac + iPhone.

It seems there has been a conflict at some point, that will not resolute.

Finally it seems it resolved by itself. Tried turning iCloud notes off/on about three times.

After moving files to / from folders on the mac the notes app / folders on the iPad seems to have resolved correct placements of notes in folders and with the correct numbers.
