Let the battery run flat and now wont turn on after charging

While watching a film, the battery went dead. It started off charging like it normally would with the battery symbol with the little bit of red. Then after abit the apple logo appears like its going to turn on but then the loading thing comes on like its dead and starts all over again. This has been happening for just over 2 hours. Tried the top and middle button restart with no luck! HELP!

Hi Kelly,
I understand that your iPhone does not fully power on. Let's see if we can get it sorted out.
If you are unable to get passed the Apple logo and going back to the battery, try putting your iPhone into recovery mode. Doing that should give you an option to either update or restore your iPhone using iTunes. If you have to restore, it does erase all the contents of your iPhone. But if you have a back up i iTunes or iCloud, you can put that back up back on after the restore completes.

Hi Kelly,
Those steps are as follows:

Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again

  1. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
  2. While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen.

If you can see the Apple logo you should at least get this far to either update or restore your iPhone by using iTunes.
Hope this helps and take it easy.
