I just upgraded my HDD to a SSD in my MacBook White early 2009. Everything work out perfectly, except that the partition of the SSD called Machintosh HD is only 120gb, I managed to expand this capacity up to 250GB, but it only let me expand 120gb. It's starting to ******* me off.
MacBook (13-inch Early 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
Check to see that the drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled and partitioned using the GUID partition scheme.
Everything is like you said, but it still not letting me to expand, it just allows me to expand up to less capacity. Besides, the partitioning window don't let me change any preference of it, it appears in grey.
