If your computer shipped with 10.6.2 or earlier and has an Intel CPU, phone Apple and order a replacement, or buy a Snow Leopard DVD from the online Apple Store.

If your computer has a PowerPC CPU, see above, except that a retail DVD would need to be 10.5.8 or earlier and bought from a source such as Amazon or eBay.

If your computer shipped with 10.6.3 through 10.6.8, you need replacement original disks, or if the computer’s firmware was upgraded to support it, to use Apple’s Internet Recovery system(press the Option, Command, and R keys at startup).

If your computer shipped with 10.7 or newer, there are no disks. Use the Internet Recovery system.
