audio output only to one side on iphone

There is no output received on the left side of any audio output used. Both in the case of the audio jack and while using a Bluetooth receiver. But while using the iPhone speakers, the sound comes throughout the speakers. I have tried restoring the iPhone to a previous backup but that didn't work as well.
