iPod shuffle red light is blinking

I bought older iPod shuffle (2.generation) yesterday. When I want to listen music, it play a couple of songs, randomly quit and red light starts blinking. It works after I put in into dock for few minutes. This problem appeared when I turn on iPod with earpods pluggend in too. In iTunes everything works and I can sync new music. What would I do ?
