Q: My 2008 iMac refuses to accept original windows disc now I have a new SSD Drive and upgraded to El Capitan

After I was having problems with my 2008 iMac I took it to a repair shop where they advised that the original hard disc was nearing the end of it's life and I have a larger SSD installed. After the repair I upgraded to El Capitan and tried to create a windows partition using a original disc. The iMac refuses to read the windows disc and keeps spitting it back out, all other discs work ok. I never had this problem when using Snow Leopard it was really straight forward. Is it something to do with the new SSD hard disc or El Capitan?

Hello, thanks for the reply. Yes I followed the steps still with no success. The optical drive just wouldn't read the disc, I have since reset the PRAM and then the disc was accepted and the partition was created. When the computer restarted the DOS message came up with no bootable device detected press any key to continue or words to that effect. The optical drive won't accept the disc again.
