Same thing here. A bunch of flashes about contacting the store up top, but nothing happens...No change to balance either.

Ok, I figured out my issue. Find your iTunes shortcut and right click. Choose properties. Make it run in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Check the box to run as an administrator.
