Q: After a recent update that replaced iPhoto with the new program, photos are no longer available in iMovie

For some time, I had been successfully using the combination of iPhoto and iMovie to create projects, but now after a recent upgrade of the system (to 10.10.4) iMovie finds only photos in PhotoBooth. I can't find the way to include the option of choices from the Photos for Mac program. What is the solution to finding the other photos in iMovie.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), Recently updated

Hey jrcolca,

I know how much of an issue it can be to lose access to any of your primary sources of media when working in iMovie. Fortunately, in the case of iPhoto, there are a number of steps that can help get your media to reappear in iMovie and any other affected apps.
