Halo UNIVERSAL runs slow?

Has anybody run the new Universal binary version of Halo on a Mac Pro with the ATi X1900XT?

I bought the upgrade last night and installed it but it runs fairly poor on my 2.66 with 2 gb of ram?

I would have thought that this spec of Mac should run it at pretty much full settings?

If Anti ailiasing (say 4 or 6x) is selected for example brings it to it's knees!

Any experiences?

User uploaded fileI would do the following in order until you find something that works…

- Repair your disk permissions using Disk Utility

- Delete the application, and every preference file etc, you can find and reinstall it

- Get Info on the application and make it's a Universal application and ensure it's not been set to run using Rosetta

- Install it on a volume with a clean version of Mac OS X and see if the problems are system related

- Contact Macsoft Games tech support else check out their forums

Halo is a old game, ported from the Windows side.

Microsoft bought the developer to place the game on the X-Box, so don't expect anything to work right or see any new versions.

Doom3 and Unreal Tournament 2004 run excellent on Mac's.

In fact one can add hundreds of maps to UT2004 and get a zillion times more game time than Halo or even Doom3.

First one has to update UT2004.

Next visit this site and register to download free maps

To place the files in UT2004

1: Locate the original UT2004 app in your applications folder

2: Control click on it and select "open package" which will revel a window of folders.

3: Place like files in their respective folders.

That's it, select the game type and map in the game itself.
