Stolen phone but no photos show on icloud.com

Hi

My iphone5 was stolen while on holiday. I had been backing up to icloud while away but now when i log on to icloud.com and click on the 'Photos' button, no photos appear. All my contacts and calendar are there though and some of my notes.

It may never have been backing the photos up. I'm desperate to get my holiday pictures back and wondered if there's any other way to get them?? I had the My photo stream album on the phone, would that be saved somewhere?

Clutching at straws but thought i might as well ask

If you did a backup on iCloud, you can restore from the backup wit another iPhone.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Is there a time limit to do this? I am still going to be away until Christmas so I don't think i'll have another iphone until then. Would it still work?

The photos app at iCloud.com displays photos from iCloud Photo Library if you had that turned on (which you apparently did not).

The contents of a backup are not displayed at iCloud.com but you can use a backup to restore to a new/replacement iPhone.

The other option if you had Photo Stream turned on would be to turn on Photo Stream on another device -- see the following link for details: My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support

Cool, thanks. I will try to get Photo Stream on a PC here. Again, is there a time limit for doing this? Am i right in thinking photo stream will only hold photos for 30 days?

Correct -- the 30 day time period is discussed in the link I gave.

Note that applies to Photo Stream and not to your backup (where the photos may or may not also be).

Great, thanks. I've just got photo stream on a PC here and it saved 11 photos down from various points of the holiday. Better than zero so i'm pretty pleased with that! Though a bit confused about where the others went.

I think i will just have to wait until i can retrieve the backup and hope that the other photos were saved there.
