The Last backup could not be completed

I am unable to backup my iPhone 5s to iCloud. It will backup "to this computer", but not to iCloud. I cannot find where the backups for my IOS devices are in iCloud to delete them and start a fresh first backup as other threads have suggested. I do not see the backups in finder or online in iCloud.

Could someone first me with the path to wisdom.

I have the iPhone 5s USB to iMac (21.5" Mid-2011, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

This actually started when I updated to El Capitan. I followed some of the instructions in the link you indicated. I had mannually backed up my iPhone to my computer for safety through iTunes. Then deleted the iCloud backup of my iPhone using my iPad: Settings>iCloud>storage>manage storage>iPhone>Delete Backup. Then re-booted my iPhone and performed a backup on the iPhone. Settings>Backup>Backup Now. It took the first Backup successfully. Confidence is high it will perform subsequent backups. I'll be checking more often now.

Thanks for the ideas ismc20. Seems to be fixed

hi,

i experienced the same issue after updating iOS to v9.1 on an iPhone 5s.

after reading several threads about this topic, and trying various solutions, what worked out for was to disable and delete the iCloud library, and then re-enable it.

all other methods - reset settings, reset settings + wipe data, login / logout from iCloud, removal of previous backups did not work for me.

i hope this will be helpful for you guys so that you won't have to wipe your phone 😉
