Face time Issues and Concerns

Apple Team,

Why am I having such a tough time connecting to the states via Face Time. I am a Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan and use this as a communication tool in order to talk and see my wife daily. There is constantly an issue with the initial connection every time I use this. It is getting very frustrating and quite tiresome dealing with this on a daily basis. I have nothing but great things to say about all my Apple products, however there has got to be a solution for this error.
