After 10.11 update, CalDigit card doesn't work

Regards,

I have Mac Pro Mid 2010 and i have updated the system last night. After the update from 10.10 to 10.11, my CalDigit USB3 card doesn't work.

When I turn on my Mac, some boot information is listed after the Apple sound. I have pictured it, so you can see. I think something is wrong with driver.

It is restarting in a loop.

CalDigit says that this type of card, FASTA-6GU3 Pro, is not needed to install driver on OS 10.10 and 10.11.

Thanks.

Which card do you actually have? CalDigit is correct that that card, which supports both USB 3.0 and eSATA connections does work in both 10.10 and 10.11 because no drivers are needed, but the earlier version of that card does need drivers installed and doesn't work for that reason. According to CalDigit, those drivers need to be removed when upgrading from the old card to the "Pro" card.

That's what I had to do before upgrading to 10.10 and then 10.11; remove the old card, hunt down and remove the drivers, install the Pro card. Now, everything works.

I like it. The price could be better. Used it for my 2008 MacPro 8 core, and it worked after I fixed a few initial issues, that were caused be previously installed software.
Turns out this card does not need any drivers anymore with OSX10.10 Yosemite. I had drivers for my previous eSATA card installed, and after installing this card, my USB3 and my Ethernet did not work. I was able to fix this by removing an old .kext for USB.
Now I am happy with it and it works flawless.

Is that really the current price? I grabbed one from OWC when they were closing them out as part of the preparation for moving to Yosemite. Glad I got it when I did. If the OP has EasyFind, just searching on CalDigit will bring up all the installed .kext's.
