I understand that you are receiving an error 7 when updating iTunes. I would suggest completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components as outlined below. Once this is done, follow the steps in the second article. You will not lose any purchased media by processing these steps.
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows
If you can't install or update iTunes for Windows
