Oct 12, 2015 10:57 AM in response to pentelhoby Loner T,There is another thread (Bootcamp booting clobbered by Yosemite upgrade) where a different cloning tool (Terabyte Image for Linux - https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm ) was used. It has 30-day trial version. Can I suggest cloning your working disk to your non-workign disk, disconnecting the original disk and testing with a clone to see if it works properly?

The absolute path to winload.exe is /Volumes/LILY/Windows/System32/winload.exe
and the path to the BCD file is: /Volumes/BOOTCAMP/Boot/BCD
Are both 'LILY' volumes connected at the same time? Let us put the TBIL side-bar on hold for a minute.

Oct 12, 2015 11:06 AM in response to Loner Tby pentelho,No, right now only LILY is connected. This is because I can boot into Windows only if the second disk (whose name is LILY2 BTW) is not connected.
What is the TBIL sidebar?
Also, how can I clone under Linux if my machine(s) is mac/Windows?

Oct 12, 2015 11:10 AM in response to Loner Tby pentelho,To be more specific, I can boot windows only if the second disk is not connected through TB, it can be connected through USB though, and then it's just a standard harddrive D:

Oct 12, 2015 12:01 PM in response to pentelhoby Loner T,This is expected behavior. Since the Bootloader starts, and gives this error about an external device, it is doing the right thing. This can be fixed.
You will need to rebuild the BCD using bootrec.exe and test. Please see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/927392 . You may also need Windows Startup Repair.

Oct 12, 2015 12:07 PM in response to Loner Tby pentelho,YEs, but before I do this, I need to put the system onto LILY2. How do you advise to do this? Use winclone on a GUID NTFS disk, or use some other utility to clone the system on USB connected LILY2 under Windows?
thx Steve

Oct 12, 2015 12:13 PM in response to pentelhoby Loner T,Do you want to consider CloneZilla (http://clonezilla.org/) and clone LILY to LILY2? CloneZilla should maintain the Fdisk partition scheme. Using a GPT with Hybrid MBR is not the same and Windows may show new issues.

Oct 12, 2015 12:26 PM in response to pentelhoby Loner T,Certainly. You can use any tool of your choice, as long as you get a viable/verifiable clone.

Oct 12, 2015 9:39 PM in response to Loner Tby pentelho,Hi Loner, Good day or Good Night, I am back, and I cloned LILY to the twin SSD drive using Macrium Reflex, and it went all hunky dory, but the clone is still not bootable. Go figure. It's 9:40 pm here now, I still have some work which I am conducting on the travel PC, but I'll turn in soon. The original LILY is still bootable!! so no irreversable damage done. Perhaps we should go bootrec when you are back online.
Always thanks for your help!!!! Steve
