iTunes 12.2 Crashes on Launch - El Capitan

I've had an issue with iTunes since last night though I haven't updated my system or iTunes since then. iTunes crashes on launch and gives a report (see here), I've tried launching in safe boot and creating a new library (by pressing option while launching) as well as rebooting the computer (MBP mid 2012).

Thank you!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”

While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.

Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?

After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.

*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

Back up all data before proceeding.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

/Users/Shared/adi

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

Services Open

from the contextual menu.* A folder named "adi" should open. Move the folder to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer and empty the Trash.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You may not see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Apple Support has given the following instructions to others who had a similar problem.

First, back up all data.

Select the iTunes icon in the Applications folder and open the Info window. Click the padlock icon in the lower right corner to unlock the settings.

In the Sharing & Permissions section, change the Privilege setting for each Name in the list to Read & Write. Close the window. If the settings aren't visible, click the disclosure triangle on the left so that it points down.

You should now be able to drag the iTunes application to the Trash and empty. Your iTunes data won't be affected.

Then download the iTunes installer package and run it.

I just performed these steps, following the directions precisely. Upon reinstallation, my iTunes still won't open. The icon is shown as open in the dock (black dot next to it), but the window never opens to show me the app contents. The only way out is to Force Quit, which sends the report to Apple. Are there any other options? I have an enormous library that I miss access to... Thanks.
