iSync, iPod Classic + El Capitan = doesn't work

I recently tried upgrading from 10.8 to El Capitan. While EC is nice in some respects, I found it obnoxiously cartoony looking, and alarmingly Apple's OS's are becoming more and more "stupidized" -- Disk Utility has become extremely dumbed-down (and less useful), the System folder locked down ("Don't play with that, children!"), etc. But I digress...

In 10.8, I used iSync to sync my iPod Classic to my Mac calendars and contacts. iSync no longer works in 10.11 -- it crashes every time it's launched. There appears to be no other way to transfer/sync my Mac calendar and contacts data to my iPod Classic. Anyone know if there is a way to do this in El Capitan?
