FCP project recovery
The external hard drive I store my FCP projects on can no longer be opened on my Mac Pro. Does anyone have suggestions as to recovery?

What happened? Give details. What's the drive? How's it formatted? How's it connected?
I was transferring a file from another external hard drive to this one, but after the transfer my main external hard drive could not be read by the computer.
It's a My Book Thunderbolt Duo.
Unfortunately it's the only place I store my FCP projects, no back ups on the main hard drive.
Transferring from what drive? How they are all connected? How are they formatted? Run Disk Utility. Does it see the drives? Can you mount them from there?
I connect the smaller drive to the Mac Pro with USB 2 and the big drive to it using Thunderbolt. The transfer was just copying a video file across which I often do.
As far as I remember the big drive was using Mac OS Extended format. The smaller drive is ExFAT.
On Disk Utility I see two drives I don't recognise but no sign of the big drive.
YYou might try Disk Warrior, but if the drive can't be seen its probably a hardware problem, either in the drive, the cabling or the ports.
OK many thanks I'll look into disc warrior.
Swap out the cable and the power supply to see whether either of those is the problem.

edit: Also if there are alternative interfaces try them as well.
