Converting 24fps to 29.97fps, FXPX or Compressor?

I've got a bunch of 24fps shots that have to be incorporated into a 29.97fps film. I'm wondering if I'm going to get a different result, converting via a straight out from FCPX, or running the shots through Compressor?

I did a quick couple of tests with FCPX, and the conversion SEEMS to be very smooth. But I've seen 'smooth' conversions become a problem down the line, when incorporated into film.

Will I get a better, smoother, conversion going through Compressor? And are there some specific parameters I need to watch out for, to set, in Compressor to get the best possible conversion?

All ears,

Ben
