itunes library on my computer do not match my device. I like my most recent purchases on top.

My iTunes library on my computer is sorted to have most recent purchases listed first, however, on my device my most recent purchases are not showing up on top. I can't figure out how my music is sorted on my device. I thought the library on my computer will be the way the songs/playlists appear on my device. I have the newest version IPod Touch (5th generation).
