Exchange Macbook Air

looking at buying a macbook air 2014 on Ebay that is dead and won't power on and I am wanting to know if i buy it would I be able to take it to apple store and just exchange it for another brand new one? I know it is still in warranty so would I be able to do it?

I recently did this with an iPhone 6 that would not power on and managed to swap it for a new one so im hoping to do the same

Absolutely not!!

I am assuming you're serious, but it's really hard to tell.

Before Apple assumes something is covered under warranty, of course they check it to make sure the damage wasn't user inflicted. It sounds as if it was.

Guess what - you do not get something for nothing.
