iTunes Duplicating Movie Files

I store my movies on a separate hard drive (D:) than where iTunes is installed (C:). Up until a recent update, iTunes recognized where I stored them and pulled the files from that separate location. Now when I add a movie file to iTunes, iTunes copies these movie files to the iTunes directory. Therefore, I now have two copies of the same movie file on two different hard drives. How can I get iTunes to revert back to only using the files stored on the D: drive instead of copying it to the C: drive?

Put the entire library on D, or open the Advanced tab of the iTunes preferences and set it not to automatically copy the files to the iTunes Media folder. Having the library in separate locations may complicate the process of backing it up.
