Finding information in Time Machine backups?

I have a few backups on my external hard drive and I know one of them is from Yosemite(rest are El Capitan) but i don't know which one. Where in the backup file would I be able to find the operating system info? I need to know because I'm on El Capitan and I need to restore back to Yosemite
