Do I need to change my ID as well as my password after a phishing attack? The Machine is a MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite.

You should not have to change your ID. Did you let the criminal have access to your MBP? If so, then erase the HDD and restore from a backup that was prior the violation. Change all passwords and notify your bank if you bank online.

Hi – many thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what MPB stands for but I don't think I gave any access – used the password but gave no further information of any kind, and the pass-word was promptly reset

MBP = Macbook Pro.
Never give anyone you do not know your password. If they did not access your MBP, then you should be safe.
