Ring and alert tones change on devices

Hello everyone,

1. I have three devices. On everyone there are the same ring and alert tones imported from iTunes from my Mac.

On my iPhone I have set up ring and sms tones for some special contacts. I always thought that the tones would be

updated to the other devices by perhaps iCloud.

But sometimes I have the feeling that on one or the other device some tones change to default.

Has someone made some similar experiences?

2. I can import alert tones *.aiff into the Mac system. Fine!

In Contacts on the MAC some of the ring and alert tones are the same as in Contacts in iOS devices.

Has someone an idea where the ring and alert tones from the contacts (not alert tones from the OS X system) on the Mac are saved. (The alert tones for the system can be saved in library/sounds in *.aiff format)
