Time stamp on iPhone photos several hours off

The time stamp in iPhone photos I took in Central U.S. Time zone this weekend was +1 to +5 hours from the time of the photo. I have time zone set to adjust automatically and usually am in Eastern time zone. Why would these photos be so off the real time, even when they were taken the same day in the same zone?

I have up-to-date 9.0.2 on iPhone 6.
