can you sketch in notes on ipad

It sounds like you have a second generation iPad and want to know if the Sketch feature of Notes will work on it. According to the following article the function requires a 4th generation iPad:

Upgrade your notes with iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan

The new sketching feature in Notes is only available on iPhone 5 and later, iPad (4th generation), all iPad Air models, iPad mini 2 and later, and iPod touch (6th generation).
