Keynote unusable on ipad

Why is Keynote still unusable in a serious educational setting? Transitiosn don't work/are very slow, then jumps several steps at once. Can't be relied upon, so I no longer use it.

Will this get fixed, or should I stick with PowerPoint, which does work, even with files exported from Keynote?
