iMovie 10.0.8 quits unexpectedly and I lose my project.

This is not from sharing to YouTube; it's just happening while working on the project. I have a new macbook pro and I am currently updating to the new operatng system to see if that helps.

I have seen a lot of discussion on this subject but it has been usually due to sharing to youtube or while importing. My problem happens when I am simply editing my movie.

Please help!
