Importing issues

Good morning,

I'm encountering something I've never had before with FCX. I'm importing files into a project that all of a sudden are coming in with a connected clip icon. It's also coming in as a 720p file instead of a 1080p. All files before were imported just fine but this new set of files will not. Then if I try to place that file into the project timeline there is a red bar at the top that I have never seen before.

I've been using FCX since it's introduction and have never seen this before. I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the program as I'm on the road and have

limited wifi availability. Any advice would be helpful.

Try this. If you have background rendering on, I would turn it off. Delete event render files from the File menu. Quit and relaunch holing down the option and command keys and delete preferences when prompted, Navigate to your working library and reopen it.

All I see is "delete event or library files". I don't see "delete event render files". I just want to make sure I don't delete the wrong thing. Thanks. DL

What Russ meant was File->Delete Generated Event Files (or File->Delete Generated Library Files; the text varies according to what is selected).

Then in the window that appears you can check a box for render files; select to delete ALL render files.
