After Upgrade to El Capitan, screen saver will not start automatically - can only start using Hot Corner?

After installation of El Capitan, all seemed OK, but noticed later on that my screen saver no longer started up after the designated delay period - checked settings and all were good (the same as before the upgrade). Now the screen saver will only start by forcing it to launch with a hot corner - anyone else noticing this behavior?

Launch the built-in Activity Monitor application and select the Energy tab. Select

View All Processes

from the menu bar, if it's not already selected. Also select

View Columns Power Assertion

Click the heading of the Preventing Sleep column to sort the process table. Which processes, if any, show Yes in that column?
