Apps won't update on my iPad 2 in iOS 9

Hi all,

Lately, apps on my iPad 2 running iOS 9.0.2 have stopped updating. The App Store reflects that they are Pending Updates, and the badge reflects 3 updates, but when I go and tap "Update", it goes to the circle for a second and then back to the Update button. I've restarted the iPad and searched around, but cannot find anything like my problem. It seems like my only recourse will be to deinstall and reinstall the apps, but I think that might just solve this instance, and I'll be faced with the same problem the next time something needs to update.
