Q: Apple ios 9.0.2 - WORST update ever!

Updating to ios 9.0.2 has been the single WORST experience on my iPhone 6+ or any iPhone for that matter!

1. Apps fail to update. When I tap the "update" or "update all" button, it just rolls around and goes back to the original "update" status!

2. When I restart my phone, my "settings" and other apps randomly open in the background when my phone restarts!

3. Apps are crashing left, right and centre!

4. Reminders are failing to be sent as before!

5. Push notifications are failing to be sent as before!

6. Phone freezes much more than it use to!

Why the **** does an "ios update" these days always mean incredible annoyance and endless frustration? It's like my phone has been hijacked by all these useless bugs and it's not even funny. Is someone seriously getting intoxicated at Apple and screwing things up with each ios update? What the **** is going on???

Cannot Restore because files are not being transferred -- another bug.

Start with the many articles by Forbes on the iOS 9.0 update and those subsequent to that.

Forbes would not be what I call objective on the matter. They like to predict the imminent demise of Apple at least once a month.

Also, Apple Tech Support says they have been inundated with calls on the bugs with this update.

    As has Verizon.

Any time there is an update, tech supports gets calls. I'd guess that the vast majority of them are just like the vast majority of posts here - people not understanding some part of the new system. Or not liking it.

Is iOS 9.x perfect? Of course not. But it's not particularly less perfect than most previous iterations. However, if the Chicken Little routine makes you happy, have at it.

I have the same exact issues and it is confirmed by Apple and Verizon that the buggy update has affected millions of customers nationwide.

I've read numerous articles online about the buggy update also.

Since using Reset or Restore is not the solution, and since signing (restoring to an earlier software version) does not work,

the best choice appears to be to wait for 9.1 to get out of beta and be released.

9.0.2 went through six beta releases and it was still the buggiest ever.

Why don't you start adding some links to your claims? It may well earn you some credibility.

Numerous Verizon techs have said this to me, that their Support calls are inundated with problems related to the 9.9 and subsequent updates.

In fact, Verizon has taken the stance of blaming Apple!.

If you would like to offer solutions, I'm happy to hear them.

Why don't you start adding some links to your claims? It may well earn you some credibility. I personally have spoken to millions of users who say the opposite, Isn't it easy to make claims with no links to proof?

    I have credibility.

Perhaps not with you, tho. Not a problem.

Have you Googled the issue? Done any sort of in-depth research?

It appears you just being challenging without doing any sort of research yourself.

    You can read here:

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/10/02/apple-ios-9-0-2-risk/

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/10/09/apple-ios-9-0-2-three-more-pr oblems/

And then do yet more research before challenging my credibility.

Read every article since the 9.0 rollout. Research the beta releases and what was fixed in each Beta,

and learn that subsequent Betas still did not fix the bugs before national rollout.

Read about Apple software update QC issues in depth, and those internal review failures.

Read all the threads on this update in this community as well as other online communities.

Get informed. Then we can have a serious detailed discussion.

Don't want to do that?? Then we can't talk because you are not being helpful.

Not Forbes, I asked for reliable links. They are not.

You can post rubbish from anywhere to try to back up bs claims. Look at how bad iOS8 was http://forums.windowscentral.com/apple-ios/312889-ios-8-worst-software-update-ap ple-8-0-1-just-makes-more-worse.html

But look at who was making the claims.

You have no credibility here at all, posting rubbish backed with no evidence.

I feel sorry for you to be honest. You perhaps should consider trying to be happy and moving to Android.........of wait.......Android Security Flaw

    Cheers

The one's I've talked to have said nothing of the kind. The mentioned the swipe to upgrade issue and that's about it. They mentioned that there's a spike in calls every time there's a major update on either Android or iOS and that, as those are Apple and Google products, they refer them back to Apple or Google for some things.

    Bonsoir,

    Cordialement

This thread is about slow WiFi. Neither of those Forbes posts mentions it, and both are so general as to be meaningless. I'm still waiting for the reference to "millions of users..."

And there is nothing in either that goes "in depth" - just very general rambling. If the reporter worked for me I'd fire him for not doing his research.

After every update for the past 8 years there have been lots of posts about how the latest (2.0, 2.2, 3.0, 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, ad infinitum) is the WORST UPDATE EVER. Strangely, none of them have actually been. The trouble with starting with an ultimate superlative is that there's no place to go from there. The WORST UPDATE EVER was iOS 2.1, which crashed AT&T's cellular network. There is nothing but minor bugs in this release, and certainly nothing comparable to 2.1. Just like it has been with most other releases.

The only serious issue in 9.0.x is the fact that POP email is not retained on the phone after downloading. THAT is a serious bug as it affects every POP account user. And there is a workaround; use a 3rd party mail app. Slow WiFi is not new to iOS 9 (gasp!) - there were reports of it in iOS 8, and there were fixes posted. And also earlier releases. The NY Times even had an article about it last week ((Oct 8), explaining that it was most frequently caused by older routers that did not perform to current standards. And that it was not just iPhones that were affected.

I find that you have not read the articles at all and are unnecessarily argumentative.
