Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I just updated iTunes and a message keeps popping up saying:
"The shared library “Store Purchases” is not responding. (503)
Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this computer has been set to allow communication on port 443."
Everything seems to be working fine but the message periodically keeps popping up.
iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
Just got off the phone with them. I spent over an hour explaining the issue to 4 different people then getting disconnected. I called back and spent another hour with 3 different people only for them to tell me they have to escalate it to the software team.
man that's frustrating. How do they not know about this issue before we do? This might be the last straw for me. iCloud music library is a joke.
No doubt. Some of the threads I've seen reported this exact same issue back in July so its hardly new.

This just started for me today... I updated MS Office today and have updated iTunes recently I think. I updated to El Capitan about a week ago, and iTunes might have updated itself since then.
Are the people having problems here on OS X El Capitan? I'm also surprised Apple Support seems to not have a clue about this...
I'm having the same problem on El Capitan, and it makes me unable to update my choice of payment making the problem even bigger.
Same issue here first thing this morning on Mavericks in the UK, but it seems to be OK now.
I have this message too....no change in music (yet). Come on Apple Support,what's going on?
This is the reason I hate updates. Something always happens! 😠
I saw it again just now although I was in fact able to dismiss it and get into the Store. Hopefully it will be sorted eventually - it's the middle of the night in Cupertino, of course, but I don't know to what extent this is regional.

Seems to be the iTunes store/App Store full stop though. Just setting up this machine and I can't login with my Apple ID on iBooks either...

I've also had problems updating apps on both my iPhone 6s and iPad Mini 4 this morning, and two of them - IMDB and Google Translate - still won't update at all.
I think the problem is that iTunes is down

seems to be the same error a few days ago (parsing error or error 503)
I did nothing and the message just spontaneously stopped showing up. I'm sure this is not helpful to anyone, but I'm content.
