Q: Apple Pay stopped working. Now get "Canot Set Up Apple Pay" error
I'm having real difficulty in trying to set up Apple Pay on my iPhone and it's driving me crazy!
Until a few weeks ago, I had Apple Pay set up and functioning absolutely fine on both my iPhone 6 and Apple Watch. Then I noticed that my cards weren't showing on my Apple Watch despite still showing and functioning perfectly fine on my iPhone and being set to "Mirror my iPhone". I tried to add the cards back manually but to no avail.
Shortly after this, I began to notice that Apple Pay wasn't working on my iPhone for In-App purchases (still worked for in store, contactless purchases) so to try to resolve these issues I deleted both of my cards from my iPhone and tried to re-add them. When I tried to re-add them however, I got the "Cold Not Set Up Apple Pay - An error occurred while setting up Apple Pay" error. Despite trying everything below, the same problem still persists and it's driving me crazy! Can anyone help?
Tried so far:
- Deleting cards from iPhone and re-adding
- Unchecking "Wallet" from iCloud options
- Signing out of iCloud
- Switching iPhone off and back on
- Update of phone software
- Putting phone into DFU mode and updating from there
- Reset of Keychain on my Mac
- Changing region on iPhone from UK (where I am) to US to UK to Sweden to UK
NB As an aside, another strange thing that I've noticed is that now when on my home screen I swipe left to the new search screen, nothing shows - just a blurred version of my background. There are no recent contacts, suggested places, recent news articles etc. Could this also be linked?
