iphone not turning on

my Iphone 6 wasn't allowing me to receive of view my text messages and usually what i would do is backup and restore my phone. For some reason this time was different. It backed up all my content and after that was done it started to restore the phone. Its been an hour and my phone hadn't prompted me to start loading my data back on. So i tried to turn it back on, i tried holding down the sleep/wake button and the home button but nothing seems to work every couple of times i do that it might say i need to connect it to itunes but even then it does nothing. i thought it might have been the battery but its been charging for an hour now and still nothing. someone i need help!!!!!
