Mac Briefly Pauses In Game/During Movies

So When I use Quicktime player and play certain games, my game will temporarily freeze or hang....when I'll playing online for about 2 seconds, as soon as the game starts running again, I end up lagging and have to reconnect/catch up to the host. It also occurs during movies as well when I play them in quicktime. this only started happening since a few months ago, but it's becoming quite a burden.

Okay Here, Although I don't seem to have a problem running some hardware demanding games, there are a few in particular this only occurs with. Which my Specs, including Ram, Excess in greatly...also Quicktime and movies shouldn't use a ton of RAM either I wouldn't think.... I feel like something might be running in the background that might be interfering... Anyway....I can always Pick up two more 2 GB Sticks of ram if I need to, I get paid this week.

Indicates you need more RAM as I suspected. I would recommend at least another 4GB. If/When you buy, only purchase from either Crucial or OWC (www.macsales.com), the reason being is iMacs are extremely sensitive to RAM and only do well with quality RAM. Both vendors sell quality RAM at fair prices and are extremely reliable.

By the way, if you use the bit torrent to download software I would recommend you cease doing this. There is a better than good chance you can download malware doing this.
