can't save to flashdrive

I cant figure out how to compress my Dad's memorial 2hrs 19 min. It is a mix of video and picture my kids put music too in imovie. When I try to put it onto an 8gb flashdrive it tells me it is too large...help!!!

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

How big is it, and how is the drive formatted? There are file size limits that are inherent to drives formatted as FAT.
