sharp tv has "input" but not "hdmi"
I just got a new apple tv device. I looked at the back of the tv before I purchased not realizing it says "input" and not "hdmi".
Is there any way to make the tv recognize the device?
Thanks

You're fine, those have HDMI ports.
As long as its shaped as an HDMI port its fine. And on that model of Tv it is an HDMI port.
Yes, the hdmi plug fits into the input jack in the back but the tv does not recognize anything is plugged in.
Did you make sure to navigate to correct input using your TV's remote? Have you tried a different cable and port?
Have you set the Tv to the correct input? What is the Tv showing?
Hence the problem. When I plug the device in and go to INPUT, it does not show up.
Apple TV won't show up under inputs. You would need to use your TVs remote to select the input that the Apple TV is connected to (ie HDMI 1), have you done that? You should see a white light on the Apple TV to indicate it's active and a setup screen on your TV.
Ok, got it, it was under change input label under MENU.
Great!
