iPhoto Library

The whole area of iCloud, Photo Library and iCould Drive seem to overlap in my mind but here's what I would like to do. Can someone provide specifc steps to accomplish it?

Have photographs taken from today forward taken on my iPhone 6 appear on both my MacBook Pro and iPhone 6 and NOT have all photographs currently in Photos synched between the MacBook and iPhone.

(hope that makes sense).

I have iCould, iDrive and iClould Photo enabled on the Mac and iPhone.

Use photo stream, not iCloud Photo Library.

As a follow up, if I delete a photo off my phone, shouldnt it delete from my Photos on my Mac?

No. That happens only when you have the iCloud Photo Library enabled.

Okay and if I enable Photo Library, ALL of the photos on my Mac will transfer to my iPhone and stayed synched, right?

Correct. If your phone doesn't have enough storage to hold the entire library set it up to just used optimized versions of the photos.

Also you'll have to purchase additional iCloud storage to hold your library. How much more will depend on the size of your library.

The first sync can take a loooong time, up to 2 weeks, depending on the size of the library and the speed of your internet connection.
