    Hi, nealt2.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand that Safari will unexpectedly close at random.  Since you have already disabled some of the extensions and reinstalled the OS, I would recommend going through the remainder of the steps in the article below.  You may need to completely remove any extensions and test to see if this resolves the issue as this could be the cause.

If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues

    Cheers

You may have your extensions disabled, but what browser plug-ins are in use with Safari, and are they actually compatible? For the same website that you were on when Safari crashed, is it reproducible?

I have been on El Capitan for a couple of weeks, and with heavy usage, Safari has neither crashed nor hung. I use current versions of Adobe Flash and Acrobat Reader plug-ins. That is it.

The root cause is the same , I have no idea about this, have you find out the solution?
