time capsule not appearing in airport utility but wireless network is running

time capsule not appearing in airport utility but wireless network is running. don't see airport express either

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

You should tell us a whole lot of version numbers:

OS X?
AirPort Utility?
MacBook Air (how old)?
Time Capsule (e.g., mine is the 802..11ac version from 2013)?

El Capitan was installed last night

Airport Utility, trying to manage Time Capsule from Mac and do not see it in/under wireless signal icon that shows wireless networks that are available. Time Capsule shows green in Aiport Utility App on iPhone 6+ along with Airport Express base showing green (will be adding another Express soon)

Macbook air is early 2014

Time Capsule is 802.11ac

Time Capsule shows green light on base station

Airport shows green light on base station
