Ever since installing Yosemite and now El Capitan, my MacBook Pro has slowed considerably. I've installed memory cleaners to no avail, and whenever I open an application (chrome being the worst) the memory usage shoots up to 98% and the application/s shut down automatically. Any ideas on how to fix this?

First get rid of the 'cleaning' applications. They are worthless. I also recommend getting rid of Google Chrome and all of its parts. It is a resource glutton.

You can paste an EtreCheck report directly into a reply here in Apple Support Communities. That is much better than posting a screenshot. Your screenshot includes your full name. EtreCheck is designed to hide such personal information. Should I ask the Apple moderators to remove your screenshots?
