Q: iphone 6 ear receiver can barely hear  speaker is okay

i have an iPhone 6.  i can barely hear thru the ear receiver. volume is up all the way.  bluetooth is off.   there is nothing covering the ear receiver.  nothing plugged into the earphone area.  have done the blowing it out check.   this began before update and continues.  HELP
